Hochtannbergpass (West side)

 Hochtannbergpass (West side)

Hochtannbergpass (1,679m, 5,509ft) is a mountain pass in the Austrian Alps in the Bundesland of Vorarlberg. It connects Warth in the Lechtal to the east with the Bregenzer Achtal near Schoppernau to the west. It is traversed by the Bregenzerwaldstraße (B 200). It connects the Allgäu Alps to the headwaters of the Lech. It is part of a nice roundtrip over Raggal, Faschinajoch and Flexenpass, making a ride of 110km and 2500m of elevation gain. This west side gets a little steeper every kilometer. There are quite a lot of tunnels and galleries on this stretch, but also some great 'floating' corners with stunning views just after Schröcken.
