Colle dell’Agnello
The Colle dell’Agnello is a high mountain pass in the Alps, marking the border between Italy and France. It is one of the highest paved roads in Europe, with an elevation of 2,744 meters (9,003 feet), and the third-highest mountain pass in the Alps, after the Col de l’Iseran and Stelvio Pass. The Colle dell’Agnello has been featured in both the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia, becoming notorious for its grueling difficulty and the dramatic weather conditions often encountered at such high altitudes. In the 2016 Giro d’Italia, it was included in one of the queen stages, where Colombian rider Esteban Chaves was the first to cross the summit.
