 Furka Pass (West side)

Furka Pass is one of the most famous and scenic high mountain passes in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of Valais. It connects the towns of Gletsch in the Rhone Valley to Andermatt in the canton of Uri, sitting at an elevation of 2,429 meters (7,969 feet). Known for its breathtaking landscapes, winding roads, and historical significance, Furka Pass is a popular destination for road trips, cycling, and hiking, as well as being part of the famous James Bond movie, Goldfinger. The combination of hairpin turns, high altitude, and stunning views makes this one of the most spectacular cycling rides in Switzerland, often compared to other iconic alpine passes such as the Grimsel Pass and Susten Pass, which are nearby and can be combined for a challenging loop.
