Puerto de Ventana (South side)
Puerto de Ventana has regularly appeared in the Vuelta a España during the last 25 years, often from this side, which is the easier of the two ascents. The scenery here is picturesque with the Somiedo Mountains visible to the north and the west and the Ubiñas Natural Park providing great views to the east. This is a great climb to include on a longer circular ride.
