Forte Venini di Oga
Fort Venini is located in the municipality of Valdisotto not far from the town of Oga. It was built between 1909 and 1912 on the hills of Dossaccio. Today, after some restoration work, it houses the Museum of the Great War. This is the best-preserved example in Europe of a stable fortification from the First World War, located in the Paluaccio di Oga Nature Reserve. It is very suggestive to walk through the spaces where the soldiers lived - through tunnels, secret passages, the kitchen and dormitories - and climb into the armoured domes. Some rooms are set up with period images and memorabilia.
