Faro de La Entallada
Faro de La Entallada is a must-see destination on Fuerteventura and a favorite for cyclists and hikers. The lighthouse sits at 185 meters (607 ft) above sea level, atop a rocky promontory, offering dramatic views over the Atlantic Ocean. It has a distinct neo-Mudejar design, with a combination of red volcanic stone and white mortar, giving it a charming and exotic appearance. From the viewpoint next to the lighthouse, visitors can see far out over the eastern coast of the island. On clear days, the Moroccan coast feels almost within reach, as this is the closest point to Africa from the Canary Islands (around 100 km across the Atlantic). The road to the lighthouse is 6 km long, with a gradual ascent leading to a short but steep finish. Some sections near the top have 10-12% gradients, making it a fun but challenging ride. It’s a perfect ride if you enjoy scenic, quiet routes.
