The Ötztal Glacier Road (Ötztaler Gletscherstraße) is a scenic mountain road located in the Austrian Alps, in the Ötztal Valley of Tyrol. It connects the village of Sölden with two glaciers: the Rettenbach Glacier and the Tiefenbach Glacier. The Ötztal Glacier Road reaches 2,830 meters (9,285 feet), which makes it the highest paved road in the Alps. Ötztal is a famous route among cyclists, known for its challenging ascent due to steep gradients and high altitude. It is featured as a part of the Ötztaler Radmarathon, one of the most grueling amateur cycling events in Europe. Often used for training by professional cyclists because of its difficulty.
