Timmelsjoch (West side)
Passo del Rombo (or Timmelsjoch) is a high mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, located on the border between Italy and Austria. It connects the Ötztal Valley in Austria to the Passeiertal Valley in Italy. At an elevation of 2,509 meters (8,264 feet), it is one of the highest passes in the Alps and is known for its stunning landscapes, historical significance, and outdoor activities. The pass has historical importance, having been used as a trade route for centuries. It was a vital connection between the regions of Tyrol and South Tyrol. There are remnants of old military structures and fortifications from World War I that can be explored in the area.
