Valle Dei Forni
Valle dei Forni is a beautiful alpine valley located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy, within the Stelvio National Park. It is a popular destination for hiking, mountaineering, skiing, and exploring the pristine landscapes of the Italian Alps. Valle dei Forni is particularly known for its proximity to the Forni Glacier (Ghiacciaio dei Forni), one of the largest valley glaciers in the Italian Alps, as well as for its scenic trails and stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The area has historical significance due to its role in World War I when the region was the frontline between Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces. Evidence of trenches, fortifications, and military outposts can still be found in the high alpine areas of the Ortles-Cevedale range.
