Coll de la Gallina
The climb to the Coll de la Galina is the hardest climb in Andorra. The south side is only paved since November 2014, which makes for even more roundtrip possibilities in Andorra. This ride tackles the north side. Starting in Aixovall, just after leaving the terribly busy main road through Andorra behind, the road narrows and starts to rise. All traffic is left behind and there is just nature and silence. After a steep initial part there is a small easy section (the last one) before reaching Bixessarri. We turn left here, where the main road goes straight into the village of Os de Civis in Spain. The amount of switchbacks almost makes you dizzy as you pass 'Santuari de la Mare de Déu de Canòlich', where the 2018 queen stage of the Vuelta finished. The top is still a long way to go and is reached at 1907m.
