Port de Cabus

 Port de Cabus

Port de Cabús (el. 2302 m.) is a mountain pass in the Pyrenees on the Andorran-Spanish border connecting the parish of La Massana with Alins. The road is paved on the Andorra side, but not on the Spanish side. There pass in a legal anomaly in that there are no border controls there, despite it forming the outer border of the Schengen Area, which usually features robust passport checks. This ride starts in Erts, just after the turnoff to the Arinsal ski-station. The climb winds its way up, and especially the last 2 kilometers give some of the best views in Andorra. It’s a good thing that part is also done in the downhill at the end of the ride!
