Winklern (Hohe Tauern)
“Pay your road toll please!” was for a long time the cry at the well-known Toll Tower in Winklern. This doesn’t exist anymore, and the historic Toll Tower is now an attraction and renowned excursion destination. It was first mentioned in documents dating from the 14th century and today houses various special exhibits.
