Timbers Snow Loop
The Timbers is a neighbourhood of The Pinery, south of Parker in Douglas County, Colorado, USA. It sits close to the Palmer Divide, the ridge between Denver and Colorado Springs. The divide is high enough to catch more rain and snow than the plains around it, and that extra moisture lets pine forest grow here in otherwise dry grassland. Cyclists can follow the Cherry Creek Regional Trail south to Castlewood Canyon State Park.
This ride is a short loop of about 2 km in the snow, from South Pinery Parkway into The Timbers along Windhaven Drive, up among the pines and back to the parkway.
