Broken River (gravel)
Broken River is a ski field and outdoor recreation area located in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, on the South Island. It’s situated in the Craigieburn Range, a popular destination for skiing, snowboarding, and alpine hiking. Broken River is part of the Canterbury region, about 110 km (68 miles) northwest of Christchurch, making it easily accessible for weekend trips from the city. During the summer months, Broken River transforms into a destination for hiking, mountain biking, and alpine trekking.
