Paznaun Valley
The Paznaun Valley is a picturesque valley in the Tyrol region of western Austria, renowned for its alpine scenery, outdoor recreation, and traditional villages. The valley stretches about 40 kilometers (25 miles) and runs along the Trisanna River, bordered by the Silvretta, Verwall, and Samnaun mountain ranges. The main villages are See, Kappl, Ischgl, and Galtür. Each offers its own unique charm. Paznaun Valley is a popular winter sports destination. Ischgl, in particular, has an expansive ski area known as the Silvretta Arena, which connects with Samnaun in Switzerland, allowing cross-border skiing. In summer, the valley transforms into a hiking, climbing, and biking paradise. The Silvretta High Alpine Road, one of the most scenic routes in the Alps, attracts tourists and cyclists.
